Pigeon John doesn’t play any “acoustic” business, but he still came up to our studios and rocked some live hip-hop with his DJ. It’s the kind of stuff that will get your head nodding and your brain smiling…I mean if a brain can smile that is.
Goldenboy have been creating quite a name for themselves in the SoCal area. That’s Southern California for all you people not “in the know.” Their latest record, Underneath The Radio, is out now on Eenie Meenie and hopefully they’ll be in your town soon. Enjoy!
The Finalist dropped by the studio very early in the morning to play a song for us. Musicians don’t like mornings, so that goes to show you the dedication of these lads. Keep an eye open for the floating mic…it’s awesome.
Honeycut features the soulful stylings of one Mr. Bart Davenport. Damn this band can dance their socks off! Watch for yourself.
Art Alexakis of Everclear stopped by our grungy studio to record a few songs, one of them being this cover of "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison. Also, Art has awesome tattoos.
José González came by the LG studio and played some songs for us, and he even brought his own microphone! This is a real acoustic performance.
After he played us three of our favorite songs, José González took the time to chat with LG about getting back into the studio and finally going home after touring for what seems like a decade!
Local rockers The Oohlas dropped by the studio for a stripped down version of their international smash hit “Small Parts.:
Check out our video interview with The Oohlas where we discuss the local music scene (or lack thereof) in Los Angeles and tell each other jokes that aren’t all that funny.
The Favourite Sons stopped by our craptacular studios to perform some songs that you'll totally be humming in the next few days. Don't believe us? Listen!
When Husky Rescue came by the LG Studio we didn't think they'd make us cry with this song. But they did! It is so moving we cried rivers of tears! They're a better Finlandia export than vodka!
Jonny Lives invaded our studio and all we got was this stupid performance. Actually, it was the opposite of stupid. It was awesome. See them play "Outside."
Jonny Lives stopped by the LG Studio and were serious enough for a second to conduct this interview. For that we gave them love & candy.
